1 DIMENSIONAL FLIGHT
1 Dimensional flight is movement in 1 axis, either the X axis (forward /backward), OR the Z axis (Up / Down). This system would use 1 or 2 winchs to control the movement of the platform in a set space.
3 DIMENSIONAL FLIGHT
3 Dimensional flight is movement in 3 axis, the X axis (forward /backward),Y axis (left/right) and Z axis (up/down). This system uses 3 or 4 winches to control the movement of the platform in a set space.
2 DIMENSIONAL FLIGHT
2 Dimensional flight is movement in 2 axis, the X axis (forward /backward),Z axis (Up / Down). This system would use 2 winches to control the movement of the platform in a set space.
3 DIMENSIONAL FLIGHT
3 Dimensional flight is movement in 3 axis, the X axis (forward / backward), Y axis (left / right) and Z axis (up / down). This system uses 3 or 4 winches to control the movement of the platform in a set space.

6DOF FLIGHT
Six Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) refers to the ability of a rigid body to move in three-dimensional space, characterised by six independent degrees of freedom. These include:
Translational Degrees of Freedom:

X-axis: Movement along the X-axis (forward and backward).

Y-axis: Movement along the Y-axis (left and right).

Z-axis: Movement along the Z-axis (up and down).
Rotational Degrees of Freedom:

Roll: Rotation about the X-axis.

Pitch: Rotation about the Y-axis.

Yaw: Rotation about the Z-axis
